Hi, I'm James Gibbs (he/him), an illustrator, graphic designer (and occasionally an animator) from the UK. My work is bold, colourful and graphic, inspired by the simple geometric shapes of mid-century modernist design. During my freelance career, I have been fortunate enough to create artwork for children's non-fiction books, magazines, clothing, and large scale advertising campaigns.
I live and work from my home in beautiful Bristol, alongside my partner (also an illustrator) Holly Maguire and our little hairy dog friend Peggy.
My spare time is spent going on long walks through nature, gardening, baking, woodworking, playing the guitar and watching strange cult movies.
I grew up in the 80s and 90s, right by the sea in Old Portsmouth in the South of England, and I studied Illustration at Cardiff School of Art & Design, Wales.
