Hi, I'm James Gibbs (he/him), an illustrator, animator and graphic designer from the UK. My work is bold, colourful and graphic, inspired by the simple geometric shapes of mid-century modernist design. During my freelance career, I have been fortunate enough to create artwork for children's non-fiction books, magazines, clothing, and large-scale advertising campaigns.
My spare time is spent going on long walks through nature, gardening, baking, woodworking, playing the guitar and watching strange cult movies.
I grew up in the 80s and 90s, right by the sea in Old Portsmouth in the South of England, and I studied Illustration at Cardiff School of Art & Design, Wales.
